Onstage
Mario Bastea-Forte and his cello can often be seen riding the bus to performances with the Oregon Symphony or the Portland Cello Project. As a classically-trained cellist, he studied at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Miami before moving to Portland in 2021. Since then, he has enjoyed collaborating with a variety of artists, including playing on recordings for Pink Martini, In a Landscape, the Oregon Symphony, and Trio Flux.

Offstage
In addition to performing, Mario keeps busy by working with artists and small nonprofits on the business-side. He is currently the Operations Manager for Heinz Records, the independent record label for Pink Martini, where he manages album production and digital distribution. As a freelancer, he also assists clients in Portland and New York with Grant Writing, Communications, and Bookkeeping.
Outside of work, he loves riding his bike, gaming with friends, and writing with a freshly-sharpened Palomino Blackwing pencil.
